1942-1945 under charter the UK
Ministry of War Transport and
operated under the direction of the
Australian Shipping Control Board
in the carriage of men and materiel
  to New Guinea. Later in the War
control passed to the U.S. War
Shipping Administration
  1945 (Apr) refitted at Dunedin
for the carriage of livestock.
Chartered for six months to the
Western Australian Government
  1945 (Nov) handed back to K.P.M.
1949 scrapped

1910 replaced by:

1910-? Java-Sydney service
   1942 (Mar) suffered a direct hit while
   alongside during an air attack on

   1943 (Aug) in Milne Bay when   Photo, Lindeboom, Vol. VI,
    it was attacked by air but was P. 117.oom op. cit.
      not damaged
1944 converted to a hospital ship
   became part of the U.S. Seventh Fleet
   in the Philippines campaign
   1945 (Dec) ended her war service
   1958 sold for scrapping
